I do not believe in this in any way but here is the first good debunking video I have seen stating that it was not a controlled demolition but the stress on the building of its own weight, the weakened state of it after the damage and the heat from the fires.

Dog Who Searched for WTC Survivors Dies

This is just another death in a string of hundreds of deaths probably caused by all of the crud in the air on that horrible day on 9-11-2001 in New York. Yea this is just a dog but you will probably hear more about this death then the deaths of all of the human workers that have died since that day. The government claimed that the air quality was ok to breath but now we know that they were lying to the rescue workers. Some workers were told off the record the air quality was thousands of times above the safe level to breath and that just using those little paper mask was no sufficient to filter the air.

My next step in the rest of my life, "Thank you Carolyn"

Well it has been just a little over 2 years and 5 months since I had my gastric bypass surgery and boy oh boy a lot of things have changed, and for the better. When I decided to have the surgery I knew that I had better do something or I would not be around much longer. I was in CHF (congestive heart failure) my diabetes was so bad I was about to have to start taking insulin. My cholesterol was well over 240 and I could barely walk more then 50 feet without being out of breath and my back would be hurting so bad I was almost in tears. My asthma was really bad, and I had lots of different aches and pains everyday.

Fast forward to today, I graduated from Trenholm Technicial College with my Emergency Medical Technician, EMT certification, I got state licensed and nationally registered, and now I have started a new job as an EMT where I have to do a lot of walking, standing and I love it. There is no way I would ever have been able to even think about doing something like this back then. I am so glad I decided to have the surgery. It truly is a new beginning to the rest of your life.

Yes it was hard at times right after the surgery. I had complications. A bad infection. A wound that would not heal, and problems keeping food down. But I overcame those problems. At times I thought, "what have I done to myself?" "I never should have done this" "this was a big mistake" But no matter what I felt or said the one person that always told me it would be ok was my Wife Carolyn.

I would like to take this time and thank the one who truly helped me make it to this point, My wife Carolyn. Without her there is no way I would or could have done this. She told me I could do things even when I didn't think I could.

"I LOVE YOU CAROLYN"

I am now a Nationally registered EMT - BASIC

I passed my classes with no problem. I also passed my National Registry test on May 9th, 2007 and then graduated on Friday May 11th, 2007. So what this means is that I am now a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician Basic level. I also went today and got my State of Alabama EMS & Trauma license. Now all I have to do is make it through Paramedic school which starts later this month.

I am so happy about all of this and can only thank my wife for all of the support. If it were not for her I would not even be here today and because of her I am here and doing well. THANK YOU!!!

FREE POWER FOR YOUR HOUSE?

This is a interesting idea. A home power plant. What if you were able to make your own power at home or at least some of it?

Here is the text from the original article:

This week Climate Energy and Honda announced that they will bring a micro-CHP (Combined Heat and Power) system to the American market, under the trade name Freewatt(TM). Sales of the Honda-powered generator with warm-air heating system have begun in the Northeastern states, where sales are boosted by the relatively cool climate and legislation promoting net-metering, which allows owners of alternative energy systems to recover costs by feeding electricity back into the networks. Climate Energy promises to continue growth in the American market, adding a hot-water boiler system and other configurations to the product palette. Judging by unexpectedly high reader response to the recent article on the Senertec Dachs, the market is ripe for this technology.

The Freewatt is powered by Honda's GE160EV natural gas engine and produces 3.26 kilowatts of heat and 1.2 kilowatts of electricity. Although substantially less than is generated by the Senertec Dachs, the Freewatt is appropriately sized for the needs or the average single home. Similar systems have sold over 45,000 units in Japan since their introduction in 2003. The low noise levels of the Honda generator, which is compared to a refrigerator, is a strong selling point for the Freewatt. The price for Freewatt micro-CHP with warm-air heater is approximatley $13,000 installed, depending upon the complexity of the installation.

The introductory model requires electricity for start-up and operation, so it is not the solution for off-gridders or people looking for the security of generating their own heat and power in a grid crash. However, Climate Energy is developing a system which will provide up to 1.8 kilowatts of power during a black-out. No hint of plans for alternative-fuel options such as wood pellets or vegetable oils yet though.

Computer From 1954

My How the Times Have Changed

"Scientists from the RAND Corporation have created this model to illustrate how a "home computer" could look in the year 2004. However, the needed technology will not be economically feasible for the average home. Also the scientists readily admid that the computer will require not yet invented technology to actually work, but 50 years from now, scientific progress is expected to solve these problems. With teletype interface and the Fortran language, the computer will be easy to use. "

Legality of the income tax called into question

This is a interesting article I found in the Rock River Times. A newspaper in Rockford, Illinois. This should make us all stop and think, and maybe even write, call or email our representatives.

In the early part of this century, a man named Bob Schulz asked the IRS to show him the law that says he has to pay an income tax. They ignored him time and time again. Since Article I of our Bill of Rights says that our government must answer our questions, the answer should have been forthcoming. Bob Schulz is still waiting for his answer. He has served his written questions over and over again, with no response from government.

Then came some notable tax “evasion” cases. Vernice Kuglin, a pilot for Federal Express, made the same claims as Bob Schulz, and was found not guilty by a jury in 2004. This year, a man named Whitey Harrell was also found not guilty by a jury. Mr. Harrell stated during his trial that he would gladly pay income taxes if someone would just show him the law. The jury found Mr. Harrell not guilty because the judge refused to show the jury the law, after two separate requests. An impressive video of a speech before the National Press Club by Jury Foreman Marcella Brooks is available for free viewing on the Internet.

Then, there’s the dramatic story of Ed and Elaine Brown of Plainfield, N.H. They, like Bob Schulz, have been searching in vain for the income tax law. Mr. Brown is a retired exterminator, and Mrs. Brown is a dentist with an active practice. One, or both, has been variously charged with conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government, tax evasion, willful failure to collect employment taxes, conspiracy to structure transactions, and structuring transactions. The Browns got their day in court last month, but were stymied when U.S. District Court Judge Steven McAuliffe made clear that he would allow the Browns to show that they honestly held unusual legal views, but would not allow them to try to persuade the jury of the accuracy of those ideas. Seeing the futility of being tried without being able to present evidence, Ed Brown simply went home and remains there today. He is refusing to return to court, and warns U.S. officials to stay away. He has publicly announced a $1,000,000 reward (real estate) if anyone can show him the law that compels him to pay income tax.

With $1,000,000 on the table, you would think that someone would find the law that compels us to pay an income tax. If you do find the law, a question arises. Will you claim the million dollars on your income taxes?

Bob Schulz’s Web site is http://www.givemeliberty.org. Ed Brown’s Web site is http://questforfairtrialinconcordnh.blogspot.com/

Suit: Rat died in man's mouth
Family sues troubled elderly facility Paragon Gardens
By JENIFER B. McKIM
The Orange County Register

A 90-year-old dementia patient was found last month alone in his room with a dead rat lodged in his mouth.

That's the latest allegation against the Paragon Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care facility for the elderly in Mission Viejo.

Attorneys for plaintiff Sigmund Bock filed suit against the facility Thursday saying staff ignored Bock's needs by allowing a rat infestation and then failed to supervise the mentally incapacitated patient.

"The defendants so literally ignored the needs of their residents, and most specifically Sigmund Bock, as to allow vermin in the form of a rat to become lodged in the mouth of Sigmund Block and die therein,'' the lawsuit read.

Nobody at Paragon was available for comment Thursday afternoon. An attorney for Paragon did not respond to a request for comment.

The lawsuit comes after a series of legal troubles for the facility, operated by the privately owned Sunwest Management Inc. based in Oregon.

Last year, the state Department of Social Services sued to revoke the Mission Viejo facility's license, alleging that six clients were injured and one died after improper care at the home. The company appealed and a meeting is scheduled later this month to set a hearing date.

In January, Bock's attorney Stephen Garcia filed a class action lawsuit against Sunwest, saying the company provided substandard care that failed to comply with state law. Garcia also sued Paragon after another one of his clients Troy Nelms, a 71-year-old Alzheimer's patient, walked off the facility last year and never was found.

"I've had enough of Paragon Gardens I'm hoping to shut them down,'' said Garcia. "They lost my last client. ... We want the department to step in and do something about this case."

State officials said they couldn't comment because they are in legal proceedings.

There is truely something wrong in this world

First let me state this, "We have part time Politicians here in Alabama giving themselves a 62% pay raise without asking us, The taxpayers if it is OK to do this first" Why do these people feel they deserve such a huge pay raise when the majority of the rest of the people struggle everyday just stay above water and make ends meet.

I feel we need to rethink the way a lot of things happen in this world and in my opinion one of the biggest things is the pay scale for people.

Why is it that the people who teach our kids, take care of our elderly, keep us safe from fires and crime are not truly paid commensurate to the work done. People like the Nurses and Nurses Aids that take care of our Parents, Grand-Parents and our mentally retarded. The only people in health care that are truely paid well are the doctors. Have you ever thought of what all they do in a day to take care of these people? Probably not. But it is not an easy job at all.

People like our Emergency Services personal such as Fire Departments, Ambulance drivers, EMTs & Paramedics. What about the Police that protect us from all of the bad guys out there. These men and women put there life on the line for "YOU & ME" everyday. They get up and go to work not knowing for sure if they will ever get to come home and see their family again. Do you think they are truly paid what they should be getting? I don't.

Think about how many times The people in the medical field come into contact with someone who has a debilitating and or deadly disease such as TB, Hepatitis, HIV just to name a few. DO YOU THINK THE ARE PAID ENOUGH? I DO NOT.

The majority of the people who do the majority of the hard work are the people who struggle the most daily to make ends meet. WHY?

I think we need to start standing up for these people and speak out about this. If you feel the same speak up now before it gets any worse.

Speak your mind in Egypt go to prison

Here is the text from a story I found about a man who blogged and spoke out against the Government of Egypt and insulting Islam. MAKES ME SO VERY GLAD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!!

Beginning of story:

A court in Egypt sentenced a blogger, Abdel Kareem Soliman, to four years in prison last week for insulting Islam and the country's president.

On his Google-owned 'karam903' blogspot site, Soliman had criticised Egypt's top Islamic institution, Al-Azhar University, calling it "the University of Terrorism", as well as referring to President Hosni Mubarak as a dictator.

My Arabic colleagues - who are, as you might imagine, rather more capable than me of digesting Soliman's blog - inform me that overall the site represents a liberal and broadly considered read, but that doesn't detract from just how seriously he caused the university, his previous employer (which pressed for Soliman's prosecution), to react to his writings.
Story continues below ↓
advertisement

There are then simple lessons would-be personal publishers can learn from Soliman's case - particularly those who log on with ranting in mind.

The first is obvious: criticising religion and major religious institutions, particularly this region's predominant religion, raises temperatures quickly.

It's obvious to state, but the over-riding consideration here needs to be understanding and appreciating the country or region you're operating in.

Religion in the Arabic world does not, as it does for many Christians in the UK for example, constitute a yearly visit to some otherwise little-known building a car journey away; instead it's at the heart of everything.

Therefore to blast it in a generalistic manner or use highly emotive language borne to offend is, arguably, not the way to start affecting your readers' views.

The second factor to bear in mind is that criticizing the ruling government or powers has a similar effect.

Take the case of Dubai's popular Secret Dubai Diary expat blog. Once blocked by the UAE's regulator, this site is thought to have been returned thanks to popular reader demand and complaints directed at the TRA. It has since remained online. And why? Because, in my view at least, of its editor's awareness of the 'no slating government or religion' rule.

The anonymous writer does manage to slate everything else however, so in freedom of speech terms that writer isn't actually doing too badly.

Alternatively, check out popular Saudi blogger 'Blue Jeans' considered piece in Lebanon's Daily Star on how Middle East governments can actually benefit from blogging by learning more about the problems, thoughts and desires of their people. This is a fine example of how a blogger operating out of a strict media environment can get their thoughts across whilst remaining online and out of jail.

So long as you weren't planning to create a blog purely for the purpose of thoughtlessly slamming these two subjects, there's really nothing to fear from heading onto the internet with your own diary site.

And lastly, nor is there reason to think that freedom of speech progress cannot be made. Ihsan Attar is one blogger who will personally attest to that, as the Syrian "realistic dreamer" helped persuade the team behind Souria.com - the largest Syrian online community in the world - to open up free forums there. Not a massive leap, but a notable one and made by one user through reasoning and persistence.

Is blogging here like the West? No of course not, but that's the point; understand what's possible, and what will cause you strife, and your blogging future should remain bright.

Illinois Man Fined Thousands And Threatened With Felony Prosecution For Using Untaxed Biodiesel

This is a very eye opening article that will make you say NO WAY! Read my comments below after you read the article for yourself.

I would have laughed those 2 guys off of my property. And if that didn't work I would have told them to arrest me and told my wife to call every newspaper and tv station she can and tell them about this crap. This is just a case that shows how "we", THE USA claim to be trying to cut our dependencies to foreign oil, but it is all just puff and blowing by the politicians. The reason why is that they are all lining their pockets with the kickbacks that they are getting from the oil companies by letting them raise the prices and gouge us the way they are and will continue to do. Please pass this on the everyone you know so that they will be able to see for themselves how our government is really treating its citizens.

How Real ID will affect you | CNET News.com

I bet these will have a rf id chip like the ones they use to track packages in them. If so then the cards will be able to be tracked, identified, and scanned from a distance. Some of these rf id chips have been scanned as far away as 1/4 mile or more. So if they are searching for someone they will just be able to ride around and look for the unique id code embedded into each and every card. What if they decide to put your religious choice on there? Or your political party choice? Then they will be able to separate us into different groups. Right? Sound familiar? Kind of like a tattoo of numbers maybe? Achtung!! Just my thought. Is this big brother? Yes it is in my opinion. Is this going to far? Well I will leave this up to each of you, but I think you should be aware of this either way. You can bet I will microwave mine as soon as they force me to have one.

7 hidden pages within your Firefox browser

Here is a neat bit of information about Mozilla Firefox. If you type in the phrase "about:?????" you will find the information listed after the about:???? on the lines below. Make sure to remove the " " from it and change the ??? with the appropriate lines from below.

A simple prompt without any parameter will display the Mozilla “about” information. Since it’s accessible from the top menus as well, it’s not quite a hidden feature.

"about:buildconfig" Obviously, it will show the build platform configuration and parameters

"about:cache" Will display info and statistics regarding your disk’s cache, including the name of your cache’s directory and a list of the entries you can find there. By default, Firefox doesn’t allow you to view the cached webpages, so this can be an useful option.

"about:config" Oh look, many many info. Indeed, it’s the most complex and meaningful of them all. Careful on what you plan to change here, your browser won’t run properly after if you play with the wrong things.

"about:plugins" Of course, what is Firefox without it’s powerful extensions? This option will display detailed information about all the plugins installed for Mozilla Firefox.

"about:credits" It’s time to give the credit to whoever deserves it. There’s an alphabetically sorted list of all the people that gave their contribution to the development of Firefox.

"about:Mozilla" This is a weird thing. It will display the so-called “Book of Mozilla”. Something similar was present in Netscape too. There’s actually no real book although the quotations might give you that impression.

It's not so much the fact that the handle on this knife is made from bone that has me worried… no, it's the artificial-sapphire blade that sets off the alarms. Or rather, it doesn't — since the knife has no metal in its construction, it won't set off any metal detectors, should an owner, say, try to bring it aboard a plane. The only substance harder than the scratchproof blade is diamond, so the knife needs a special diamond whitestone for sharpening. That might be a skippable accessory, though, since it seems likely that such a blade wouldn't need to be sharpened that often, unless the owner happens to be a really prolific terrorist… er, knife user.

There's no data on price or availability (thankfully), but you baggage screeners at the TSA better be advised.
